Happy Sad

Like a lot of my other posts so far, this one is going to be one hell of a jumble too. So in all wisdom, I'm warning you off right now.

I'm going through a very mixed bag of emotions right now. And to point them down is very hard but I'll give it my best shot.

My exams got done yesterday. My final University of Mumbai Board Exams. And as I walked out of the exam hall and I saw all the happy smiling faces around me, I felt out of place. I wasn't as happy or as euphoric as they seemed to be. And no, it's not cause my paper didn't go well. It went pretty decently actually.

It was because I realised that this was it. The last exam of my college life over and done with. 3 absolutely brilliant years at Wilson had come to and end. And I can no more be called a college student. And while this might seem like a juvenile rant. It's true. My college life is OVER!
And while I may seem like a stuck record, I have to say this, " I wanna go back and do it all over again."

In case you were wondering that was the sad part.

Now comes the happy part!

This is a tribute to one of the best friends I have ever had. Period.

And in case, you're wondering who it is. It's Mynie.

This girl has always always been there for me whenever I've needed her. She's my Rock of Gibraltar. She's been a friend, mother, sister, been the voice for my conscience and my life would be so so incomplete without her. And her approval means more to me than anybody else's. Always always standing behind me. She's truly been the wind beneath my wings.

Beautiful, wise, funny as hell, intelligent. If I didn't love her as much as I did, I'd probably hate her.

And I've realised how amazing she is especially during these last days of my exam. I constantly called her every minute that I could. Woke her up and made her explain things to me. Took the notes that she so painstakingly put together and studied them. Disturbed her concentration while she was studying to explain all the random things I had in mind. Plans for after exam, after college, the next ten years.. you get the picture.

And if I have a daughter, I would want her to be just like her.

So anyway, this is a big thank you for you, Mynie. I only hope you know how special you are to me.

And in the words of Khalil Gibran- And in the sweetness of friendship, let there be laughter and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

Yeah. College life is officially over. No more being undergrads. :) Now's the time to get all prim and propah! :)

And about Mynie, wow! She's so lucky to have you acknowledge all the help she's provided. I help people and get bitten on my ass. :p (But I'm still one of the kindest people around). :D

Nice post. :)

P.S. WHAT will it take me to make you comment on my blog? By now you should have realised I'm a whore for comments. :p

Yay....exams over!! I very well understand what you are talking about.I was absolutely depressed on the last day of my exams...same morbid thoughts.I still think school and college were the best days of my life! I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again.I would proabably have a lot more fun and would like to keep my grades as they were :)

Hey and treasure your friendship. Some of my best friends are from my school days. When you are as old as me, you'll pass a lot of time thinking about the good old days!

On a complete side note....was it Wilsons where Dil Chahta hai was shot? I heard rumors about it.Its a beautiful college.I've seen it from outside.

Oh my God! *Wipes tears of joy* Damn, woman, you've been the sweetest that anyone has ever been to me! I'm really moved by the post! I have no words to tell you how important you are to me. I will also never forget all the fun we've had doing the most random things. Will miss you like a bitch, man! Love you! UMMA

I remember one day, in beginning of college, it was raining heavily yet both of so wanted to go to the beach but couldn't because we had no company. Then we bumped into each other and headed on. I think that's when we began being friends. And if it was such rough weathr when it started off, it sure can stand many tests!

*Bows and accepts applause for the emotional discourse that was just given*

Remembering Avanti

Day before yesterday, on the 8th of November 2008, Avanti Desai would have turned 21. Instead 15 days before her birthday, as she hurried home to celebrate her grandmother's birthday, Avanti met with a train accident at Jogeshwari station. Just like that. Gone from our lives forever. Leaving behind a huge void and the world a lot more gloomier. And when I got the call first thing in the morning, I couldn't believe it. I thought it was a cruel sadistic joke, but as the calls kept coming in, I realised it was true. Even at the cemetary,, it still hadn't sunk in that Avanti was no longer here. The worst moment though was watching her disappear into the crematorium, it was horrible and I couldn't believe we were leaving her there, and through the next couple of hours all I could think of was of her going up in smoke while we stood there in the bright sunshine. It seemed incomprehensible at first, to think of Avanti as dead, to talk about her in the past tense, to get

Randomity

I sat here staring at my screen for at least 15 minutes before I could decide what to blog about and as I write this I still have no idea. It's randomness at its best. There are a multitude of thoughts swirling through my head and I'm finding it hart to pinpoint or firmly hold one down. To be precise, what I'm feeling is exactly what Mynie describes in Strings . It's a knotted mess in my head. But I felt that it was time I did a blog post, there have been way too many tags lately and while I love doing tags. It's incredibly cathartic to write a post and get everything off my chest. And while this may seem a mess of a post, there's a lot of stuff that I wanted to talk about but didn't really seem to deserve an entire post to themselves, in terms of content at least. So I'm gonna put them all in here, in what is probably going to turn up to be a hell of a confused post. I'm just going to go with the flow and talk about whatever pops into my head. Cool?

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal

I watched Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal over the weekend. First day first show in fact and it was fun. A paisa vasool movie if nothing else. Goal absolutely belongs to John Abraham. You cannot take your eyes off him when he's on screen and he does superbly well in a film that doesn't need much histrionics. And his smile. Its just the best. I'm a sucker for nice smiles. The kind where the eyes get all crinkly and his entire face just lights up. Bipasha Basu doesn't have much to do in the film and is incredibly inept at what she does do. She just doesn't come across well. The songs are pretty good. I especially loved Halla Bol. Billo Rani on the other hand is a nonsensical film and would have fitted in better in a movie about UP or Bihar. And how a bunch of footballers who are struggling to pay rent for their club manage to come up with enough money to hire dancers and a vulgar looking singer is beyond me. The movie though doesn't do much for me. The computer animation is
